January Exercise Goal Surpassed

It's been tough this cold and frosty January to keep up walking but I logged 50.9 kilometers this month. My goal was 40 km so I guess you could say I surpassed my goal.

With all the snow and ice, I could have just given up. And I did take a short two week break over Christmas. Unmotivated but also down with a bad cold, I did very little walking, except from the parking lot at work to my desk. But I decided to "again" give that old treadmill sitting in the basement another try.

And it has stuck for these last 3 weeks. I found I could watch TV while I walked and the time flew by. In the past, I would put on my headphones and listen to music, only to be bored within 20 minutes. Now I record a bunch of movies and watch them while walking for 40-60 minutes 3 times a week. Including my snowshoeing every Saturday morning, I'm averaging about 14 km a week.

My goal for February with 4 weeks and 4 workouts each week will be 50 km again.

I'm so impressed with myself.

Good idea; keep it up. I'm trying to do the "sixty minutes of being active each day", mostly by walking, some by snowshoeing or skiing. So far so good, but just barely started.
